Day 1 – CBD and laneways
- Hosier Lane, Degraves Street, Block Arcade
Morning explore CBD laneways: Hosier Lane, AC/DC Lane, Degraves Street. Block Arcade and Royal Arcade. Afternoon Federation Square and river. Evening Chinatown or Fitzroy.
Tips:
Melbourne's coffee is serious; try several cafes. Laneways have hidden bars and restaurants.
Day 2 – St Kilda and beaches
- St Kilda, Luna Park, penguins at pier
Morning tram to St Kilda. Beach, Luna Park, and Acland Street cakes. Afternoon penguins at St Kilda pier (dusk). Evening St Kilda or back to city.
Tips:
Penguins appear at dusk; free viewing from the pier. Book a tour if you want a guide.
Day 3 – Fitzroy or Queen Victoria Market
- Fitzroy, Brunswick Street, or Queen Vic Market
Morning Queen Victoria Market (closed Mon/Wed) or Fitzroy and Brunswick Street. Afternoon last coffee and departure. Melbourne Airport is 25–30 minutes by SkyBus.
Tips:
Queen Vic is great for food and souvenirs. Fitzroy has the best vintage and brunch.
